The Steyr AUG is an automatic assault rifle, with a medium range scope.
IGI 2: Covert Strike:[]
AUG is given to the player in first two Chinese missions. However, since stealth is a vital element in these missions, AUG is not suitable for them due to its noisy nature.
It has a medium range scope, which could provide a little stealth to the player as it could be used to fend off enemies from long range.
Since it is automatic rifle, it is quite effective against large group of enemies in close quarter duels.
AUG is the only fully-automatic weapon in the game to be scoped.
